Freedom & Unity Youth Film Contest Joins WRIF

The 2018 Youth Film Contest
is now open

We are excited to announce a few new components to this year’s Freedom & Unity Youth Film Contest!

A New Home • White River Indie Films is the new parent organization for the Freedom & Unity Youth Film Contest. The final presentation of films and the awards ceremony will occur during the WRIF Festival May 31-June 3!

A New Director • Sophie Bodnar is excited to join the Freedom & Unity team for the fourth iteration of this contest. Learn more about Sophie here.

Submission Eligibility Update • Freedom & Unity is open to anyone aged 10 to 26 who is currently enrolled in a degree-granting educational program in Vermont. This includes the Dresden School District and the Rivendell Interstate School District. All others are encouraged to apply to the White River Indie Festival Regional Show Case.

Early Submission for Feedback opportunity • Freedom & Unity recognizes constructive feedback to be a vital part of any creative process. This year, we are offering an early deadline (March 15, 2018) to filmmakers who wish to receive work-in-progress feedback from selected mentors. After receiving feedback (March 22, 2018) you will have one month to make changes to your film before the final submission deadline (April 21, 2018). Fresh eyes offer a fresh perspective! Consider submitting early for feedback! Please note: submitting early for work-in-progress feedback is encouraged and not required.
