About WRIF
White River Indie Films is an educational non-profit dedicated to engaging the public in the political and social issues of our time and to supporting the visual arts through film.
Films are selected for their recognized artistic and social merit. By broadening the audience for such films, hosting discussions, and partnering with local public interest groups, WRIF seeks to fill this void and thereby stimulate greater citizen participation in political and cultural affairs.
WRIF will also support the work of the regional film community, assist local nonprofits with their outreach efforts, and contribute to the White River Junction creative economy.
WRIF is governed by its Board of Directors, assisted by its Advisory Council and supported, in part, by its Founders Group. Films presented will be recent prizewinners from major international film festivals and submissions from regional filmmakers. At present WRIF presents screenings twice a year and plan to expand to three or four screens per year as WRIF grows.
